ISPsystem at HostingCon 2011

ISPsystem took part at HostingCon 2011 that was held in San Diego, CA, from August 8 till August 10. Every year members of the hosting sector gathered at HostingCon – the premier conference and trade show for the hosted services industry.

We asked ISPsystem’s team some questions about their impressions of the event.

- What did you find interesting at HostingCon?

Igor, CEO: I highly appreciated the keynotes and sessions. They were enormously essential and carried great value. Moreover, I was astonished with the volume of American market and the number and size of companies working on it.

Paul, Business Development: HostingCon 2011 provided a bundle of new opportunities and experiences. The conference allowed us to personally get in touch with some of our existing customers and develop new leads, network with other industry representatives and experts, catch up with friends and partners, as well as attend many educational sessions. So for us the event allowed not only to exhibit and showcase, but also connect with people on a more personal level, which sometimes makes all the difference. All in all, we were very excited to participate again this year.

Tatiana, Sales and Event coordinator: It was my first time in the USA. I liked the excellent organization and the venue of the event. HostingCon organizers provide us with an excellent way which allows exchanging experiences, networking with partners and clients, as well as learning about the latest news, ideas and technological trends affecting the web hosting industry. The event was completed with events where the attendees could get in touch with each other in an informal setting, develop new connections and strengthen the existing ones. ISPsystem’s team was on three continents--Europe, Asia, and North America! I hope that this trend continues.

- How did you like the keynotes and conference sessions?

Paul, Business Development: It is always useful to get a fresh perspective on things from knowledgeable people, and what can be better in achieving this than one of the biggest industry conferences? The sessions were divided into four different tracks: Marketing / Sales, Emerging Trends, Technology / Operations and Business Development. In total there were just over 50 sessions in those categories and, as you can imagine, it was a lot to cover, and more importantly, digest in just three days of the conference. All of the sessions were presented by great speakers and were highly valuable. Further, the sessions helped map out the industry landscape and identify various directions in which future projects will follow.

- Do you think this conference was efficient for ISPsystem?

Ivan, Senior developer: Frankly speaking, I cannot estimate the commercial aspect of it, but I am sure that it was great for establishing contacts.

Paul, Business Development: Yes, definitely! The organizers did a bang up job! With nearly 130 exhibitors and 1800 attendees HostingCon 2011 was very productive and we have accomplished much and more. The event provided endless opportunities to network and share professional experiences and know-how.

- Were the visitors interested in ISPsystem’s hosting automation software line? Which products were more popular?

Igor, CEO: It goes without saying that visitors were interested in our software, just as in any other new product on the market, especially if the product lacks the disadvantages of existing solutions. Which products were more popular? Honestly, I cannot select one product. Different companies liked different products. Generally, every one of our products appealed to a given audience, considering their specific demands and requirements.

Nikita, Project manager: Certainly Yes. Many hosting companies are looking for alternatives to control panels which they are currently using. Especially they were interested in the advantages our products have over our competitors’. In my mind, ISPmanager is the most popular among hosting companies, but I noticed that BILLmanager and VDSmanger are almost as popular.

Paul, Business Development: Those who were yet unfamiliar with our products were interested in finding out what we have to offer and how the products from our hosting automation line can be co-integrated. Many HostingCon 2011 attendees were already familiar with our products and services and were interested in finding out what new features we have in store for them. I would say that the main interest was directed at ISPmanager, and BILLmanager, with other products not far behind.
